The Conservation Volunteers Alliance welcomes new members.
To be a member you need to:
- be an organisation that conducts conservation activity with volunteers
- conduct conservation activity over a broad region, state or country
- agree to objectives of the Conservation Volunteers Alliance
Membership is not available to individuals.
There are three levels of membership in the Alliance.
Organisations interested in becoming a member in the Alliance will first become Affiliated Members before progressing to be Development and Benchmarked Accredited Members. Once an organization is an Affiliated Member then application for the accreditation program can occur.
1. Affiliated Members
Affiliated Members -
- receive regular communication from the Alliance
- are recognised on the Alliance website as an affiliated member
- have a weblink from the Alliance to affiliated member site
2. Development Accredited Member
Development Accredited Member’s would be in the process of meeting the standards set out in the Alliance Accreditation Program. The organisation would identify that they have yet to meet the necessary standards are in the process of obtaining competency in all necessary areas. The Alliance, where practicable, will assist Development Accredited Members obtain Benchmark Accreditation -
- receive assistance from the Alliance to progress to Benchmark Accreditation
- access initiatives conducted by the Alliance for Development Accredited Members , including:
- training and resources to assist in improving practice
- involvement in volunteer exchanges
- receive regular communication from Alliance
- be recognised on the Alliance website as a Development Accredited Member
- have a weblink from the Alliance to affiliated member site
3. Benchmark Accredited Member
Benchmark Accredited Members have completed the Accreditation and have been awarded Benchmark Accreditation -
- use the Benchmark Accreditation in promotional material and in seeking funding
- access initiatives conducted by the Alliance, including:
- promotion of conservation projects or programs
- volunteer exchanges
- funding of Alliance activity conducted by Benchmark Accredited Member
- receive regular communication from Alliance
- are recognized on the Alliance website as a Benchmark Accredited member
- have a weblink from the Alliance to affiliated member site
Membership Fee
There is a Membership Fee of $US100 each year. The same fee is applied to each of the three membership categories. An invoice will be issued on the 1st of July each year and when an organization applies for membership. Where an organization applies for membership in the period from January to June then the membership fee will include the next 12 month period (July to June).
The annual membership
fee is payable annually in July of each year.
